  • Are you a proponent of starter interrupt devices?  And please explain your answer.

  • I have never been a proponent of starter interrupt devices. I believe it sends the wrong message to a customer we're trying to foster a mutual trust with. GPS devices keep customers in their car by allowing us to go to them and work out whatever problem they are having. If you believe a customer has to be managed through the ability to shut down their vehicle regardless of where they might be, who might be in the car or what the situation is, that sale should never have happened in the first place. I feel more strongly about this than I do the legal aspect, which is significant in its own right.

  • I agree with Roger. From a service stand point, I have seen extensive damage done to vehicle wiring by an upset customer trying to bypass the starter interrupt. The GPS should be used as an asset protection device and not a collection tool.
