Best Practices –Written Recon Procedure

Recon Procedure – The purpose of a written recon procedure is to have a clear step by step guide as to how the flow of reconditioning happens in your service center. It can be used as a training tool for new hires in service as well as tracking a vehicle throughout the process. It should list the steps involved and the department or position responsible for each step. A sample written procedure is attached

  • My experience has been reconditioning can become a money pit if not properly managed. It is usually the third highest expense with payroll and purchasing being the two largest cost buckets.

Effective management of reconditioning can significantly impact your gross margin and bottom line.

Until I met Jon Parks, I was opposed to having reconditioning centers, but his system of reconditioning best practices is the best I’ve seen.

I highly recommend hiring him to go through your reconditioning processes to see how much money you can save.
